Though current server that runs on E3-1230 is still not fully utilized, we are still happy to upgrade our existing server to get in touch with the latest E3 cpu in the market.
E3-1230 was launched in 2nd quarter of 2011, whereby e3-1270v3 was just recently launch. v3 cpu boost the new performance and the memory bandwidth.
We have done the necessary setting such that you don't have to make any configuration changes. We also backup your data to offsite server in case things go wrong.
As to the timing, this will be done on 7 November 2013 at 1AM Singapore Time. Expected downtime would be about 1 - 2 hours as we need to shutdown, take out the hardisk and put the same hardisk into the new server running on E3-1270v3, boot up, and configuration tweak.
